We visited Eurofins in Nantes, France
The history of Eurofins begins with Dr. Gerard Martin at the University of Nantes, where he was asked to develop a method for the adulteration of wines. The developed method is known by its acronym in English as: SNIF-NMR (Site-Specific Natural Isotope Fractionation studied by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance). Today together as one of the people who started the operation of Eurofins in France more than 2 decades ago, our friend and colleague Mr. Eric Jamin and one of our expert in adulteration of food products Ms. Cecile Chabirand, we had the opportunity to know where the story started and today is one of our Europe's wide Competence Centers with impressive facilities and state-of-the-art equipment on a campus with an area close to 20,000 m2.
Eurofins Scientific France is one of the largest laboratories in the Eurofins network and is recognized worldwide for its history in the Food sector, specializing in assays associated with the adulteration of products. In addition, it has a broad portfolio in matters of contaminants, nutritional, biochemistry and molecular biology of food. The laboratory is accredited by COFRAC, the French accreditation organisation, in accordance with ISO 17025
